\nDuring the Upper (Eyelid) Blepharoplasty procedure, the excess skin is removed from the upper eyelid as well as the excess fat that is usually present in the area towards the nose.<\/p>\n

Lower (Eyelid) Blepharoplasty Surgery: in this procedure, we remove the excess fat that creates the “bags” as well as the excess skin from the lower eyelids.<\/p>\n

For the upper (eyelid) blepharoplasty, the incision must be made precisely in the natural creases of the upper eyelids, about 1cm above the eyelashes. For the lower (eyelid) blepharoplasty, the incision must be made exactly underneath the eyelashes. In some cases, where it is not necessary to remove the skin on the lower eyelid, the incision is made internally in the conjunctiva.<\/p>\n

Blepharoplasty is not used for treating the dark circles under eyes. However, there can be a slight improvement when the “bags” on the lower eyelid are removed.
\nThe results of blepharoplasty change over time, but they are inconspicuous.
