Dr. Alexandrou, after graduating from the Medical School of University of Athens with fellowship, acquired his specialty, in 1995, in plastic surgery at the University of Kagawa of Japan, as he was granted with a fellowship from the Japanese Ministry of Education. There, he specialized in Congenital Malformations (Dysplasias) (cleft lip / palate - cleft palate, microtia) and Reconstructive Microsurgery.
Dr. Alexandrou continued his scientific course in the U.S.A., when, in 1996, he was accepted a proposal for Craniofacial Surgery Fellowship by the Professor Mr. Joe McCarthy at NYU. There, he received specialized training in several fields such as management of patients with craniofacial malformations and orthognathic surgeries, with extensive application in Cosmetic Surgery.
During his stay in the United States, the Plastic Surgeon Dr. Alexandrou was educated in New York, in numerous prestigious medical institutions, including the Tisch Hospital, the Bellevue Hospital, and Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital (MEETH). Alongside his training in craniofacial surgery, he specialized in cosmetic surgery procedures such as face lift (lifting or rhytidectomy), rhinoplasty, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), liposuction, breast augmentation / reduction and breast reconstruction.
On his return to Greece, Dr. Alexandrou began his career in the Hellenic Craniofacial Center-the only one that is valid in Greece and one of the nine of Europe in which today he is director. From this position, he continues his activities in the field of Craniofacial Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery.
